Red currants

Grown up under the mid Rhine sun, red currants are harvested directly into the basket so that the vulnerable fruits do not have to pass through thousands of hands. They then come through the fastest possible way to the market and you can snack on them fresh from the basket.

SanLucar' Tip:

  • Red currants are not appropriate for long storage at room temperature. The best is if you store them in the fridge. If you free them from the stalks, they keep their aroma for up to one year. With the help of a fork you can prick the berries out of the stalks.
