Grapefruit

Only the variety Star Ruby is allowed to become a SanLucar grapefruit. It has a waxy yellow appearance outside, with a red blush and inside it has red flesh. Its tart content is slightly higher than its sugar content, which makes it a mildly sour grapefruit.

SanLucar' Tip:

• When you squeeze them, you can, as with all other citrus, get more juice if you roll them with a slight pressure between your hands.
• Look at the colour when you buy them. Fruits with pink skin are sweeter and less bitter than fruits with yellow skin.
