Galia


The Galia melons originally come from Israel. They are round and slightly netted. Its speciality is the harvest at the best maturity point, where the sugar content is measured beforehand. Moreover, you can recognize its full maturity by the yellow skin, which protects the greenish-white flesh. Pay attention on this thirst quencher, the variety’s characteristic firmness and colouring of the flesh. Follow your nose, because mature and cooled melons should smell seductive.

  • Galia melons are kept best with a relative humidity of 90% - 95% and a room temperature between 2° C and 5° C for a maximum period of 1 to 3 weeks.
  • Melons should be enjoyed cool. To eat them raw the fruits are cut in half, with a spoon you take the seeds out, then you cut them in pieces and then serve it with knife and fork.
