The big red slicing tomatoes of SanLucar are cultivated from November to March in the Spanish region of Almeria, where the salty water gives them their unique flavour. The Dutch tomatoes are grown in the most modern greenhouses, where extra care is taken that they taste as good as their Spanish colleagues. They are fleshy, juicy and firm when cut. With their rather salty aroma and firm consistency, they are ideal for salads and also good to fill with other ingredients.
