Lots of sunlight, water low in acid, a ground with little or no lime and high humidity, these are the perfect conditions for a strawberry's proper growth. This is exactly what can be found in Andalusian Huelva, and that’s why the strawberry likes it so much there, it would rather never leave.

But not only that: for the SanLucar strawberries we - like all the SanLucar farmers – have chosen the best areas only. You have to take care that the soil is of the right quality, which direction the plot faces, whether there are mountains nearby, which prevent cold air, or a slope, which means, you have a higher angle of sunlight here, which gives you much sweeter fruits.

All this will help the plants to hold their own against weather and pest much better. Our way of cultivation is a very natural one. For this reason, last time Ökotest tested the SanLucar strawberries, they were labelled "very good". Thank you, Ökotest – hope you do a test anytime soon....
