Greta Reers

Intern in the purchasing department

»I did an internship in the purchasing department. SanLucar builds purchasing teams according to the season and harvesting period, and so I met different teams and got to know about different products. A great experience! I was involved in the day-to-day business right away, which meant working in constant coordination with distributors as well as ensuring that orders were dealt with correctly – in close collaboration with the sales department and the logistics team. SanLucar places high value on quality and fair, responsible trade, from the field to the supermarket. I was especially enthusiastic about being able to work with products that I myself buy on a daily basis. The work atmosphere is very personal and open, and not only my tutor from the department continuously accompanied and supported me, I also received support from the HR department.«

Elisa Nickel

Intern in the personnel department.

»In the human resources department I was responsible for recruiting new trainees and interns. Thus, I wrote job ads and put them online, corresponded with applicants and even organised and held job interviews. I thought it was great that the HR team placed trust in me from the very beginning. At SanLucar you sense the familial atmosphere even on your very first day at work, and social aspects and projects play an important role in the company. I learned a lot about the structures and connections in an international company, not least from the presentations that we interns gave each other about our respective departments. The internship was a wonderful experience and opportunity to make use of what I’d learned at university in the day–to-day business, to learn the strings in new areas of responsibility and to increase my knowledge.«
