In search of the tastiest grapes

In search of the tastiest grapes

De Hoek (South Africa), Monday, 12 February 2018

Our quality experts Malandrie and Felicia have a great knack for recognising sweet grapes and a true dream job, too! The two work in the Research and Development Department at our farm in De Hoek (South Africa) and are allowed to snack on the most delicious grapes to their heart’s content. In the end, they are doing all this research for us.

Here, at our test plantation, we gently cut off a bunch of the red grape variety Arra-Thirteen from the vine. A variety with many benefits: while its flesh has an almost crispy consistency, its skin is so tender that it melts right in your mouth when you eat it. The grapes taste wonderfully sweet and are refreshing at the same time. »You’ll eat this grape like you do peanuts,« promises Malandrie. Well then, let the grapes start their journey up north ASAP!
