Red lentils with herbs

If you enjoy culinary delights, you know that it is not really necessary to have so many things on the plate for your food to make you totally happy – on the contrary. In particular, the simplest dishes can be reinterpreted to truly become your favourite dishes!

This is exactly how we dealt with a dish we recently discovered: the red lentils with aromatic herbs. What makes it so irresistible?You won’t need many ingredients for the recipe or have stand at your stove for hours. Perfect, when the delicious lunch has to be ready fast. Sound delicious? Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 shallot
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 150g red lentils
  • 1 dash of white wine
  • 400ml of water
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch of anise powder
  • 1 SanLucar tomato
  • 50g SanLucar Herbs: basil, bay leaf, oregano, rosemary, thyme, parsley

Preparation:

Finely chop the shallots and sauté in olive oil. Add lentils. Add white wine and top up with water. Season with a pinch of salt, pepper and anise powder and simmer for about 15 minutes until the lentils are soft. Place the tomato into boiling water briefly and skin. Dice the fruit. Finely chop the herbs. Add tomatoes and herbs to the lentils and taste. This is served with fried sea bass or pike-perch fillet.
